I started Panorama Yerevan a few years ago as one of the first dedicated Armenian shows on international radio. I wanted to bring forward the real gems I discovered in public archives, bringing together my knowledge, taste, and instincts as a selector. Presenting a full panorama of Armenian music has since been my mission.
Over the years, I’ve worked on dozens of episodes, and the show is now released monthly. Each episode involves research, digging through archives, selecting tracks, and bringing them together into a curated musical journey and context.
My appreciation for music has no limits, and neither does the panorama of Armenian music. Be it a medieval chant, a pop song, a folk dance, a tune from a restaurant affair, or a chat with a legendary musician, all of these belong to the same vast and fascinating musical landscape. While working on the shows, I feel immersed and infinitely blessed. The music is so, so beautiful, as are the stories behind it.
Every episode opens another door, revealing something I didn’t know before.
There is still so much more to tell, explore, research, and share - much more than can be accommodated in a one-hour radio show. There is so, so much space for new formats and collaborations. So I feel that the time has come for Panorama Yerevan to grow into a platform.
